Latin Roots #1

ROOTS AND DERIVATIVES
  1. act, ag, ig: to do, to move, to drive
  2. ali, alter: another, other
  3. am: at/ to love
  4. anim: life, spirit, soul
WORD LIST
  1. agenda- a list, plan, or outline. I left my agenda on the desk.
  2. agile- a quick or sudden movement. Soccer players need to be very agile.
  3. alienate- to make indifferent or hostile. The party host wasn't friendly in fact she was alienate. 
  4. altercation-a heated or angry dispute. After the game the two teams got in am altercation. 
  5. amiable- having or showing pleasant. Bony seemed very amiable with her new house.
  6. amorous- disposed to love. The couple seemed very amorous.
  7. animated- full of life or spirit. No matter what you do always be animated.
  8. equanimity- mental or emotional stability.
  9. inalienable- not transferable to another or capable of being repudiated. The plants in the summer are inalienable.
  10. inanimate- lifeless. The drawings were inanimate.
  11. magnanimous- generous in forgiving an insult or injury. Eveeryone needs to me magnanimous to lead a peaceful life.
  12. reactionary- pertaining to, marked by, or favoring reaction. The sermon left the people in reactionary.
